Well, we've done it: we're officially homeowners!
After signing mountains of paperwork last Friday and shipping it overnight back to North Carolina for arrival on Monday, Kevin and I closed on our house. It's been such an exhausting and exciting process and we can't wait to move in. It's so strange knowing that we have just one weekend left as Massachusetts residents before we move into our lovely new home.
There's still a bit of packing to do, but we're well on our way to being finished. The electricity and water are in our name, internet is in the process of being set up, and our ducts and HVAC system are getting a full cleaning and disinfecting this week. It's really happening!
The house doesn't need any immediate improvements, so we're excited to arrive, settle in, and get ready to welcome our baby in just a few months (the photo above was taken back in July, when I was much less pregnant than I currently am).
We have big plans for what we want to do inside and outside (hello, garden and chickens!), but most of all we're just ready to not deal with terrible landlords and atrocious winters anymore.
Send all your good vibes for an uneventful move in our 900 mile journey next week. We need all the positive energy we can get!
